The Foyle system’s Owenkillew and Strule rivers provide some of the best high water canoe trips in Northern Ireland.Travelling with the flow, access to the Owenkillew is available at Killymore Bridge Canoe Steps, on the B46 approximately 4km to the east of Newtownstewart.
Downstream the Owenkillew merges with the River Strule near Newtownstewart. The canoe steps at Harrigans Amenity Area Newtownstewart provide an easy exit and entrance to the Strule and allow for a further 8km trip north towards Victoria Bridge.
